In true Rodarte fashion, the garments were not conventionally displayed on mannequins as most other exhibits would exhibit clothes, but the gowns and pieces were laid out in various positions and silhouettes, as if they were frozen in flight, mid-air. The dreamy, ethereal collections will be mostly in black and white to add to the mysterious feel of the exhibit.
Much like their costumes were displayed in the dramatic Black Swan, the set was designed with high contrasting lightings and shadows, and other theatrical elements to showcase the intrigue of the designs. Runway producer Alexandre de Betak is responsible for the fantastical set, and he often works with visionary designers such as Dior, Diane von Furstenburg and Jason Wu.
